Today, Cargills FoodCity, Sri Lanka’s leading supermarket chain announced its partnership with ‘Star Points’ to offer Cargills FoodCity customers a one-of-a-kind  lifestyle ‘loyalty’ experience through its ‘Cargills Member’ loyalty programme. The launch event was graced by Mr. Imtiaz Abdul Wahid, Managing Director of Cargills (Ceylon) PLC, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Group Chief Executive, Dialog Axiata PLC, Mr. Anthony Rodrigo, Chief Digital Services Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC and Mr. Sidath Kodikara – Chief Executive Officer – Cargills Foods Company (Pvt) Ltd.

This loyalty programme using the Star Points platform would offer its members unparalleled benefits and discounts throughout the year while also giving them the opportunity to earn and burn ‘Star Points’ at Cargills FoodCity. The programme also allows members to earn and redeem their ‘Star Points’ through 400 Star Points merchant partners.

 

‘Cargills Member’ lifestyle loyalty cards issued free and over-the-counter

The card is issued free to any customer who simply has to fill in a form of registration and hand it over to the cashier to receive the Cargills Member Loyalty Card over-the-counter. Based on the points accumulated the membership would be tiered into Gold, Silver and Bronze cardholders. A customer’s points tally will appear on every purchase bill, which will help them keep track of their accumulated points. 1 Star Point will equal Rs.1/-.

 

The Star Points network consists of over 400 partner merchants with more than 20,000 partner outlets island-wide. They cover a variety of multiple retail sectors and are the first and only mobile-based loyalty network in the country.
