Celebrating 14 Years of Entertainment with Gold FM
Gold FM celebrates 14 years of being pioneers in the Sri Lankan radio industry on the 19th of September. With the launch of a brand new concept of radio in 1998, Gold FM was the first twenty four hour Sri Lankan radio station to fill the void in golden oldies music from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, with an hourly comprehensive news bulletin.
Speaking of the stations achievement Rayynor Silva, Chairman, Asia Broadcasting Corporation said, “Gold FM has held the number one position among English Radio channels in Sri Lanka for a number of consecutive years. Our aim is to consistently evolve our programming to ensure only the best of entertainment for our listeners.”
Over the past 14 years Gold FM has brought their listeners the best in music and live entertainment with legendary artists from the 60’s and 70’s, such as Billy Ocean, Leo Sayer, The Drifters, The Supremes, The Platters, Boney M and Sir Cliff Richard. Gold FM has become a household name not only in the Island but across the world on their webcast www.goldfm.lk. Reaching homes and workplaces on 99.9FM in Colombo and Kandy, 104.2FM island wide, 102.7 FM North Central and 94.7FM Down South.
Waking you up in no uncertain terms every weekday morning from 6 a.m.-10 a.m. is Tom Hart and Graham. Two witty and heartwarming radio personalities with a unique sense of humor, belting out the best selection of oldies to get you pumped up for the day. Next in is the vibrant Keiko on the Gold Request Show, followed by Monique and Shafi on the Afternoon Breeze with three hours of smooth tunes to exhilarate you.
Joe Spencer and Kirk take the listeners home on the “Evening Drive” with three hours of the best music to take away the stress of the day on the long drive home.
