ProFood Pro Pack and Agbiz 2012 an exhibition showcasing the food chain evolving from the “Farm to Fork” will be held on the 6th 7th and 8th of July at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Hall, in Colombo.

The exhibition, set to be held for the 11th consecutive year has been renowned for its distinct and comprehensive range of products and services related to the food and packaging industry. Industry players who play a part in each aspect of the food chain, ranging from the industries related to farming, packaging, agriculture, and irrigation will all come under a single platform during the three days.

Over 300 exhibitors will show case their entire product portfolio which includes modern and innovative technologies that are part and parcel of the present day food and packaging industry.

The exhibition spanning three days will have upto 300 stalls from a wide arena of categories related to the Food and Packaging industry. The stalls will include exhibitors representing the Poultry and Farming industry, agriculture, machinery and equipment and processed food industries. The main addition to this year’s exhibition will be the inclusion of a section tagged “Halal food Asia” and will have the participation of all major stake holders within that specialized segment.  Exhibitors will include those from India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkey an Argentina.

Food is an important and significant part of every human beings life. However, processes which for a part of bringing the food dish home are not publicized and witnessed in an open arena. ProFood Pro Pack and Agbiz 2012 will provide the ideal opportunity to the general public to experience the exact and entire process through which the “food meets the fork”.

The addition of “Agbiz” to the event will give the visitor a value addition to the entire process that is both unique and experiential. Modern methods of seeding, innovative technologies regarding irrigations systems, methods that most efficiently identify and harness the right crops will all be a part and parcel of the exhibition spanning three days.

Super market chains, Hotels, category buyers and the general public will be provided with the most suitable platform to understand, compare and decide on the most effective and efficient method to cater to their differing needs. Industry players such as hotel owners and supermarket chains will be afforded the opportunity to witness low cost and high efficient methods used for the entire process which will in turn help them to serve their customers cost effectively and maximize profit margins.
